Why are pollinators mportant? |

Honeybees are crucial to the food supply: About one-third of the human diet comes from insect-pollinated plants, and the honeybee is responsible for 80 percent of that pollination. [1]. It is estimated that three-quarters of flowering plants require pollinators in order to produce fruit [2]. Bees also produce honey and beeswax. They have great economic importance, but more notably, great importance in contributing to the growth of food which supports entire ecosystems.
